December 24th - a magical day.
Christmas Eve 2004: David and I started our journey as husband and wife
Christmas Eve 2007: We found out we were expecting the greatest joy life can bring
Christmas Eve 2008: Our precious daughter rolled over for the first time...under the tree!
Christmas Eve 2009: Our adventurous toddler tried to sneak a peek at her presents!
How far we've come!

You'll Need To Turn Up The Volume
Morgan thinks it's much more effective to whisper rather than actually talk...I am SURE she didn't get that from her mom!

Camper Girl
Now that summer has finally ended (and I am finding a few minutes to post), I thought I would update you with a few photos of Morgan from our various camping trips this summer. Camping was an integral part of my childhood and is quickly becoming a tradition with our daughter. Fortunately for us, she's a natural-born camper!

And then she was one...
We've had a lot going at our house this month. Morgan started walking...everywhere. She can now say words like, "hi" and "puppy" - she can even say "au-my" although I much prefer "mommy" (but not at 3:00 in the morning).
Perhaps our biggest accomplishment is that Morgan turned one! I have lots to say about what a tremendous gift my daughter has been to my life, but everytime I try to type something meaningful I start crying and can't see the keyboard. Quite frankly, I think you'd rather see pictures of her anyway! Happy Birthday, Baby Girl!

My Personal Receptionist
She's great at answering the phone, she just doesn't know how to take a message...I don't know, something about not being able to read or write.

No, she wasn't in the raft with us...
I generally only post photos that include Morgan. After all, who wants to look at me and David when Morgan is SOO much cuter? However, last Saturday was a big day for me -- I went whitewater rafting! Not only did I leave our precious daughter home with my sister for the day(thanks again, Leslie), but I did something totally adventurous and even a little dangerous! Who knew, there might actually be life after baby!

We have teeth!
Morgan has cut her first two teeth, right up front on the bottom- as soon as I can get her to hold still long enough, I will post a picture!

Big Girl
So, things at our house are in overdrive! Not only is our daughter crawling, she can sit up all by herself and has even tried to pull herself out of the tub -- I am sure she'll be driving by the end of the week.
We finally had to lower her crib, just to make sure we don't end up with a little escape artist in a few months!

Da Da Da?!?!?!?
I think it's pretty clear we have a daddy's girl on our hands...so much for that whole "I carried you in my womb for 9 months" thing!

Don't you want to sleep...just a little?
So I thought things would be a little more "normal" at our house by now. Morgan would be sleeping through the night, I would be totally rested, and the dark circles under my eyes would have started to subside...joke's on me!!!
Apparently, my daughter thinks it's still party time at 4:00 in the morning. Not only that, she can't be bothered to eat at daycare (too much other fun stuff to do, I guess) and wants a bottle 2-3 times a night -- UGH!
Good thing she's so cute...

Day Care -- A Whole New World
Today is day four of day care -- Morgan is thriving...I'm surviving. David and I found out this morning that we ask more questions about our daughter than the other parents...raise your hand if you're not remotely surprised by that! :)
Evenings at our house have turned into some sort of child care cram session -- we're both jockeying for the baby, trying to squeeze every coo and grin out of her before bedtime. Instead of washing dishes or folding laundry, we're now mesmerized by everything Morgan does, using every waking minute to make for the hours lost throughout the day. As a result our house is a train wreck, but our daughter is SO loved! Who cares about a sinkful of pots and pans, right?
