So We May Have Outgrown This One

David was just trying to keep Morgan contained while he vacuumed--- what may have been a good plan a year ago was clearly a no-go this time!

December 24th - a magical day.

Christmas Eve 2004: David and I started our journey as husband and wife

Christmas Eve 2007: We found out we were expecting the greatest joy life can bring

Christmas Eve 2008: Our precious daughter rolled over for the first time...under the tree!

Christmas Eve 2009: Our adventurous toddler tried to sneak a peek at her presents!

How far we've come!

Snack time

Who needs a highchair when you have household appliances? (please note the banana cookie in the dishwasher...for safekeeping, of course.)

Fall Photo Shoot

In honor of Morgan's first birthday, we took her back to the same park where David and I had our maternity photos taken -- how things change in a year!

Halloween, Part I

Trick-or-treating photos to come, but at least you can see my little farm girl on her way to her Halloween party at daycare!

What Happens When You Turn Your Back on a Toddler

While in the midst of unloading groceries, I noticed our daughter was strangely quiet. When I called out her name, this little bundle of mess came to greet me...at least it wasn't the margarita mix!

You'll Need To Turn Up The Volume

Morgan thinks it's much more effective to whisper rather than actually talk...I am SURE she didn't get that from her mom!

Eating Seashells by the Sea Shore

David's brother recently got married on the Jersey shore; Morgan got to experience her first airplane ride and first trip to the ocean. As you can see, she was quite enamored with all the sand. I couldn't even get her to look at me!

Camper Girl

Now that summer has finally ended (and I am finding a few minutes to post), I thought I would update you with a few photos of Morgan from our various camping trips this summer. Camping was an integral part of my childhood and is quickly becoming a tradition with our daughter. Fortunately for us, she's a natural-born camper!

And then she was one...

We've had a lot going at our house this month. Morgan started walking...everywhere. She can now say words like, "hi" and "puppy" - she can even say "au-my" although I much prefer "mommy" (but not at 3:00 in the morning).

Perhaps our biggest accomplishment is that Morgan turned one! I have lots to say about what a tremendous gift my daughter has been to my life, but everytime I try to type something meaningful I start crying and can't see the keyboard. Quite frankly, I think you'd rather see pictures of her anyway! Happy Birthday, Baby Girl!

My Personal Receptionist

She's great at answering the phone, she just doesn't know how to take a message...I don't know, something about not being able to read or write.

Good intentions, not so good outcome.

SOOOOO, Morgan might not have quite enough hair yet for curlers. They appeared to make a better snack than they did beauty product! :)

No, she wasn't in the raft with us...

I generally only post photos that include Morgan. After all, who wants to look at me and David when Morgan is SOO much cuter? However, last Saturday was a big day for me -- I went whitewater rafting! Not only did I leave our precious daughter home with my sister for the day(thanks again, Leslie), but I did something totally adventurous and even a little dangerous! Who knew, there might actually be life after baby!

Oh look, we match -

Not sure how this happened, but Morgan and I were SOO coordinated at dinner last night!

My future lawn mower?

Or not so much...when the goin' gets tough, Morgan throws in the towel.

Go swimmin'?

Looks like we've got a water baby on our hands - like mother, like daughter!

Happy Father's Day

We celebrated our first Father's Day this weekend -- Morgan couldn't ask for a better daddy!

We love you, David!

Spring Photo Shoot

What can I say, she's a ham! :)

Singer? Song Writer? Dancer?

You be the judge...personally, I think my baby's got SKILLS!

Hard Day...

You can't quite tell here, but Morgan has decided the best way to sleep at night (or during her nap) is to flop on her belly and scoot her rear end in the air...just like her Daddy and her Uncle Shaun. Glad to know our combined gene pools have served her well!!!

The Laundry Basket Express

Quite frankly, David (the conductor) and I (the photographer) were much more entertained by this than Morgan was. Shortly after this photo she tried to climb out and the train was derailed...so much for free entertainment!

Whatchoo lookin' at?

Now this is some QUALITY father-daughter time!

Pack & Play...or Jail Cell?

We've quickly learned that one of the safest, most convenient places for Morgan to play is in her Pack & Play...However, Morgan also quickly realized that there is life on the other side of those mesh walls!

Bedtime at Our House

So, we tried to put the little punkin to bed last night in her crib, only to discover she thinks it's party time in her room at night. Here's what was peering back at me when I went to check on her!

The New Suit

After much deliberation, I decided that I wanted...no, needed... to get Morgan the cutest little swimming suit I could find. When I found this little 1920's retro number, I couldn't help myself. Now we just need to get her a little pool!

My First Easter

In case you were wondering, I WAS the sweetest, best behaved baby in church today...
(P.S. - if you zoom in on the bottom photo, you can see my new teeth!)

Friday, April 10, 2009

We have teeth!

Morgan has cut her first two teeth, right up front on the bottom- as soon as I can get her to hold still long enough, I will post a picture!

Big Girl

So, things at our house are in overdrive! Not only is our daughter crawling, she can sit up all by herself and has even tried to pull herself out of the tub -- I am sure she'll be driving by the end of the week.
We finally had to lower her crib, just to make sure we don't end up with a little escape artist in a few months!

Blowing raspberries on the go...

I'm SURE this will help me get movin'!

Thursday, March 19, 2009

Da Da Da?!?!?!?

I think it's pretty clear we have a daddy's girl on our hands...so much for that whole "I carried you in my womb for 9 months" thing!

Thursday, March 12, 2009

Don't you want to sleep...just a little?

So I thought things would be a little more "normal" at our house by now. Morgan would be sleeping through the night, I would be totally rested, and the dark circles under my eyes would have started to subside...joke's on me!!!

Apparently, my daughter thinks it's still party time at 4:00 in the morning. Not only that, she can't be bothered to eat at daycare (too much other fun stuff to do, I guess) and wants a bottle 2-3 times a night -- UGH!

Good thing she's so cute...

In the blink of an eye...

So new...just one month old!

Now she's six months old...so much has changed!

So much to say!!!

So, as I was saying...

Friday, January 30, 2009

Morgan is on the move!!!

I think I want to crawl...or at least check out this little bee!

Day Care -- A Whole New World

Today is day four of day care -- Morgan is thriving...I'm surviving. David and I found out this morning that we ask more questions about our daughter than the other parents...raise your hand if you're not remotely surprised by that! :)

Evenings at our house have turned into some sort of child care cram session -- we're both jockeying for the baby, trying to squeeze every coo and grin out of her before bedtime. Instead of washing dishes or folding laundry, we're now mesmerized by everything Morgan does, using every waking minute to make for the hours lost throughout the day. As a result our house is a train wreck, but our daughter is SO loved! Who cares about a sinkful of pots and pans, right?
